This class is required for the Cyberjutsu Training Academy (CTA) program and a must for anyone interested in entering the field of cybersecurity. Topics covered include cybersecurity history, regulations, and trends. From a technical standpoint, there will be a review of operating systems, file structures, hardware and software, network devices and configurations, and basic offense and defense strategies. We will also explore career opportunities in the field and the types of knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for them. We will install operating systems in a virtual environment for the fundamentals needed in building an IT-specific foundation. This virtual lab environment will be the starting point for your home practice lab that is built upon with each class taken in CTA. There will be a practical assessment at the conclusion of class, resulting in a pass or fail grade.
