Workshop Title: Introduction to Penetration Testing.

Topic Details:

This workshop will go over the process of penetration testing and provide exposure to penetration testing tools and methodology. We will focus on the fundamentals of penetration testing. We will go through the entire penetration testing process – information gathering, enumeration, vulnerability analysis, exploitation, privilege escalation, and post exploitation. We will explore a variety of different penetration testing tools and their basic usage. 

This workshop will be remote. You will have the opportunity to compromise a system using with the knowledge gained from the workshop. Instructions will be provided prior to the start of the workshop for the remote lab. 

This workshop will be very technical with complex real-life cybersecurity issues, pushing your technical skills to the next level and turning you into a white-hat hacker.

Hamza is a penetration tester for a fortune 500 company. He has spent the last 10 years immersed in the world of cybersecurity. He has had the opportunity to lead complex penetration tests for a variety of federal and commercial clients. Hamza holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and a Master’s degree in Information Security & Assurance/Cybersecurity. He is the founder of Beltway Hackers, a monthly meetup focused on providing attendees with an inside look into the world of offensive cybersecurity.

Prerequisites – What You’re Expected to Know

  • Basic knowledge of technology
  • An understanding of security concepts
  • Knowledge of OSI model
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts
  • Familiarity with Linux and Windows command line
