Cisco Becomes Black Belt Sponsor for Women’s Society of Cyberjutsu

(McLean, VA) – The Women’s Society of Cyberjutsu (WSC) is proud to announce that Cisco has become a Black Belt Sustaining Sponsor—WSC’s first since being granted 501(c)(3) nonprofit status.

Cisco, the worldwide leader in networking technology, also sponsors WSC’s Cyberjutsu Girls Academy, which promotes education in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and cyber security to girls in middle school. Cisco’s sustained support will help fund education and training programs.

“Our industry needs a strong combination of talent, diversity, and new thinking to address the shortages we find ourselves facing today. We at Cisco are proud to support Lisa and her leadership efforts with the Women’s Society of Cyberjutsu and the Cyberjutsu Girls Academy, both of which help and empower women and girls to pursue the important educational and career opportunities that are available in the field of cybersecurity,” said John N. Stewart, Cisco® Senior Vice President and Chief Security and Trust Officer.

Lisa Foreman-Jiggetts, founder and CEO of WSC, added, “Cisco’s sponsorship is very important to our organization. Their generous sponsorship helps us to expand the training that we offer to both women and men. The programs we offer aren’t limited to just women and girls, but our focus is to promote women in areas where we are under-represented.” WSC’s mission is to advance women in cyber security by providing programs and partnerships that promote networking, education, mentoring, resource-sharing, and opportunities.

WSC’s other sponsors include NetSecurity Corp, ManTech International Corporation, and Nelson Enterprise Technology Services (NETS). For information about WSC programs or sponsorship opportunities, contact WSC at or view sponsor info at
